Authentic Disciples
This sermon concludes a three-part series on Jesus's Sermon on the Plain, challenging believers to examine the authenticity of their discipleship through two powerful illustrations: fruit trees and foundations. Pastor Wilson emphasizes that genuine followers of Christ are known not by their words alone, but by the fruit they bear and the foundation upon which they build their lives. True discipleship requires both heart transformation and obedient action. The sermon confronts the contradiction of calling Jesus "Lord" while living in willful disobedience, warning that counterfeits exist within Christianity – people and movements that carry Christ's name but lack His character and power. The core message is that authentic faith produces good fruit through abiding in Christ, and genuine disciples build their lives on the rock-solid foundation of Jesus's words, which alone can withstand the storms of life and God's final judgment.
